The standard we work to

Valdovinos Drywall is a locally owned crew out of Winston-Salem, working for homeowners and builders alike. Drywall is the one trade you look at every day without noticing — as long as it was done well. That's the standard we hold ourselves to.

Commercial wall with drywall seams taped and coated, floor and adjacent areas protected with plastic sheeting
Taping in progress — site protected
  • The raking-light test

Before we call a wall done, we run a work light along it at a hard angle. If a seam, screw, or ridge throws a shadow, it isn't done.

  • Plumb, level, square

Finish work can't fix crooked hanging. We get the boards right first, so the mud does less lying.

  • A clean site is part of the job

Dust barriers up, floors covered, debris out every day. In occupied buildings we run containment and air scrubbers so the business next door keeps running.

  • The quote is the price

Itemized estimates, in writing, before work starts. Change orders only happen when you order the change.

A clear process

A smooth wall is built in passes, in order, with drying time respected. Here's how the job goes — and what each pass looks like on our sites.

Commercial space stripped to metal studs and subfloor with containment barrier and air movers running

Step 1: Frame & insulate

Steel track and studs set plumb and on layout, then batt insulation and vapor barrier fitted tight.

Fire-rated Type X drywall being hung on metal stud framing

Step 2: Hang

Board goes up square and tight, screwed off to spec, seams staggered so they land where they hide.

Drywall wall with joint compound coats feathered over taped seams and screw heads

Step 3: Tape & coat

Tape bedded, then two to three feathered coats — each one wider, each one flatter.

Finished corridor with smooth painted wall, painted base and new carpet tile

Step 4: Sand, paint, finish

Final sand, Level 5 skim where specified, then paint and floors — and the raking-light walkthrough with you.

Tell us about the space and we'll get back to you within one business day with an estimate for the work.

An estimate given before we see the job isn't the final price. Square footage, access, and the condition of what's already there all move the number. For an exact price, text us at (336) 986-4589 to set up an in-person look at the work.
